Saturday evening P and I went to watch the Albuquerque Asylum soccer team, and joined Jenny there. (Her boy C. is a ref.) Jenny and I knit and watched the game, and I got to look through her copy of Teva Durham's Loop-D-Loop at half time. There is one sweater that I absolutely MUST knit. That is, after I start and finish Cable Eight. And the million other things I want to do.
As the sun set and turned the Sandia mountains their namesake pink color (sandia= watermelon in espanol) I snapped a picture:
The scoreboard has seen better days.
On Sunday I went hiking with a friend, and hiked from 6,000 feet above sea level to 10,000 feet. We did the 9 mile La Luz hike in about 4 hours, and I came home to take a three hour nap. So, not tons of knitting done, but I had fun.

This was the view from about 9,000 feet. Albuquerque. All of it.

This still reminds me of the scene in Star Wars IV (A New Hope) when Obi Wan and Luke Skywalker are looking out over Mos Isley spaceport. Obi Wan says, "You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy. We must be cautious." (see Childhood meme #1) I kinda felt that way about Albuquerque for a long time. Not so much anymore.
and look what came in the mail.....mmmmm. Chocolate Pakucho.
