Work continues on the sock, and the baby pinwheel blanket. I have started the ruffle-of-doom. I am not sure if I will be sane when I finish it.
Over the next several months I hope to post regularly about things that I will miss about Albuquerque. Since I spent my first two years here hating the living daylights out of this city, I hope you realize how momentous this really is. I LIKE it here now - and it IS the wild west in many respects.
Case in point:
The taxidermy AND gun shop on Central Avenue. (trust me, it was nearly impossible to get both signs in the shot - a ladder would have helped, I think!) There is also a handpainted Winchester ammunition advertisement on the building. This is right around the corner from my favorite Salvation Army. All the front doors ( I think there are four of them) tell customers to enter through the back door, but it is scary to go through the alley, so I have never ventured into the store.
A friend had to put her dog down last night, and I am just not feeling perky and cynical this morning.
Tonight is Knit Night, so come on out for knitting fun with us at Satelitte Cafe across from UNM - 5 ish - 7ish! The company of knitters always brightens my day.
ciao, bellas.
